# About the guide and its practice context

Wisdom teeth & orthodontics

Publisher and sources

SMILE\-FX® publishes this educational guide to explain wisdom\-tooth questions alongside orthodontic care. Its three lessons distinguish evidence, an individual stated reason and a current appliance concern. AI assistance was used in drafting and implementation.

Each chapter finishes a fictional example. Source dates and individual clinical assessment remain part of the explanation.

## Who oversees the orthodontic plan

The practice context below explains doctor responsibility, follow\-ups and the general orthodontic services available at SMILE\-FX®. It keeps the clear\-aligner focus within full\-service orthodontic care, including the separate custom\-bracket option.

These capabilities describe orthodontic care. They do not select a wisdom\-tooth management option or confirm a surgical service. An individual dental reason and its management remain part of the personal clinical explanation.

## Doctor\-led care, from planning through follow\-ups

At SMILE\-FX®, board\-certified orthodontists see every patient, including at follow\-up visits. Clinical director Dr. Tracy Miao Liang leads a full\-service Miramar practice with a digitally driven clear\-aligner focus. Your goals, proposed appliance and continuing care belong in an explanation you can understand.

### Understand the proposed plan

AI\-assisted precision planning supports your orthodontist's work. Before\-and\-after smile\-preview simulations give you a view of proposed changes, so you can point to what you understand or want explained. A simulation illustrates the plan; it is not a promised result.

Low\-dose 3D CBCT imaging supports clinical assessment, detection of findings and treatment planning when indicated. The information helps your orthodontist connect the findings with an explanation of the proposed approach.

### Stay connected between visits

Smartphone and iPhone monitoring comes standard with braces and aligner plans. You can send progress information from home between visits for clinical review. Remote monitoring also helps flag issues such as broken brackets or aligners that are not tracking, with the clinical team evaluating what needs attention.

With 24/7 access to provider support, you have a contact route when a question or concern arises. Responses are handled through the clinical team's care arrangements, keeping access to support distinct from a promise of an instant reply.

### Connect your plan with practical continuing care

SMILE\-FX® makes in\-house 3D\-printed aligners and offers same\-day aligner and retainer options. That connects doctor\-led planning with a local fabrication route. Your prescribed appliance and individual arrangements determine which option is used.

For continuing care, SMILE\-FX® can ship course\-correction aligners to your home. Rescue aligner care provides a doctor\-led route for people seeking help with a prior aligner course. Course corrections and Rescue arrangements are set individually alongside the clinical plan.

Custom 3D\-printed bracket options are also part of the practice's range. Their off\-site manufacturing is separate from local aligner and retainer fabrication, so the appliance and its production route stay clear in your discussion.

Care policies confirmed by SMILE\-FX®: local fabrication and same\-day options, individually arranged home course\-correction shipments and Rescue care, and separately manufactured custom brackets. The links below provide service information and general patient resources.

### Understand your options and included care

SMILE\-FX® offers Invisalign and OrthoFX, including AirFlex, alongside night\-time aligner options. The range gives you specific choices to discuss, while your orthodontist determines the system and wear instructions for your individual plan. Commercial systems and in\-house appliances have their own production routes.

Fixed and removable retainers plus whitening are included at SMILE\-FX®. These benefits belong in the full treatment conversation and written proposal, alongside the active appliance and continuing\-care arrangements.

At\-home and in\-office whitening options give a separate color goal its own place in planning. The appropriate method and personal arrangements are decided individually; the availability of both modes does not mean every person receives both.

## Three sources with different dates and purposes

The Cochrane review was published May 4, 2020 and searched through May 10, 2019. Its comparative question concerns asymptomatic disease\-free impacted wisdom teeth, with low or very low certainty evidence. It is not presented as a latest\-evidence review.

The AAOMS clinical paper carries a 2024 copyright and describes broader management recommendations, including its surgical preference and selected retention with monitoring. The AAO retainer page is dated October 21, 2026 and supplies fit guidance rather than a wisdom\-tooth causal explanation. These sources were checked for this guide on October 24, 2026.

## What the completed examples represent

Morgan, the supplied one\-tooth explanation and Riley are fictional teaching examples. They contain no patient record, testimonial, assessed outcome or invented clinical reply. Each example finishes a modest interpretation while leaving the personal clinical decision with the appropriate assessment.

The neighboring extraction and retainer guides keep their existing explanations of planned movement, tooth/action language and retention design. This guide's separate job is to connect wisdom\-specific evidence and reasons with a current orthodontic question.
